There are many applications for the Magnum Helical Piers including:
- Deep Foundation Piers for New Construction
- Concrete-Less Foundations for Light Construction
- Concrete Slab Lifting & Stabilization
- Temporary & Permanent Shoring
- Underpinning Commercial & Residential Structures
- Tiebacks & Wall Anchors
- Earth Anchors for Slope Stabilization
- Temporary & Reusable Tilt-Up Wall Anchors
- Boardwalks & Pedestrian Bridges
- Sea Walls & Bulkheads
- Pipeline & Utility Tie Downs
Helical piers have significant load bearing capacity and are used in both compression (downward) and tension (uplift) applications. When a helical pier is installed into suitable soil, the load of the structure is transferred to the bearing plates welded to the shaft.

The primary benefits of Magnum Helical Piers are:
- Fast Installation – 30 to 40 a day with a single installation device & one crew
- Pre-Engineered System – torque-to-capacity ratio produces completely predictable installation results
- Variety of Piers & Capacities – capacities from 8 tons to 200 tons; wide selection of products to match capacity requirement
- No Soil Spoils – eliminates removal costs; perfect for environmentally sensitive sites
- Small Maneuverable Installation Equipment – minimal equipment costs; no vibration
- Dual Cutting Edge Blades – patented design enables superior pier installation through cobbles, tightly compacted clay soils & dense fill materials
- Single Bolt Connection – for fast & efficient installation
Magnum installers have installed our helix piers across the country from Manhatten to the mountains of Colorado and West Virginia to the waterways and swamplands in Florida.

Patent # 6,058,662
Magnum® Dual Cutting Edge (DCE) Blade™
This revolutionary patented blade design enables Magnum Helix Piers to penetrate difficult soils including very dense gravel, soils laden with occasional cobbles and even fill soils containing trash like trees, concrete debris, small to medium rocks, etc.
The DCE Blade can even penetrate sedimentary bedrock with standard penetration test blow counts of up to 50 blows for 6 inches.

Mr. Joe Loudermilk
Partner – Extreme Technology’s, Atlanta, GA
“Magnum’s Helical Piers with the DCE Blade are the best helix piers I’ve ever installed. The blade design virtually eliminates any side-to-side (wobble) motion and the piers advance in our dense clay soils just like a screw into wood.”
Mr. Ross Kirk
Owner – Marco Concrete Lifting, Charleston, WV
“Hands down the best blade design for penetrating our dense West Virginia clay soils. The Magnum DCE blade even let’s us penetrate our shale formations without deflection or failure. The DCE blades are great!”
Mr. Jerry Lipe
Owner – Lipe Brothers Construction, Duluth, MN
“Our crews specify the Magnum DCE blades for our helix piers because the blade is able to penetrate the Laurentian Shield formations in our region. Often times we encounter these layers at very shallow depths, and the DCE blades will cut through it so we can get below frost depths and into good tight clays.”
